A Rare European Estoc Sword 16-17th century
The overall condition is excellent on this piece.
The sword is extremely balanced.
The hilt is comprised of a set of curved quillons, with a long pommel with spiral groves. This sword has the perfect counter weight to give it fantastic flexibility. The condition of the grip is excellent, this appears to be the original and has been well preserved.
The blade is a typical estoc blade, with a thick-end diamond cross section which is hollow ground.
There is some slight looseness present in the guard but this is a great example of a museum quality peice.
