18th Century European Hunting Sword

European hunting sword 18th century

The hilt is very interesting with an ebony handle carved with several bears, the grip also has a ferrule that may have been replaced or has been cleaned.

The guard is very intricate with hunting dogs masterfully engraved.

The blade is a double edge design that has a hollow ground cross-section. The condition of the blade is good considering its age but shows signs of use primarily in the front.

The blade has several engraving on either side of the blade however they are not the same on with side.
