European Cup Hilt Rapier Circa 17th Century

This style and design associated with colonial troops.

The hilt is very interesting with a large dish guard, richly engraved. A pair of straight quillons with knuckle guard. The grip consists of wooden handle with beautiful wire wrap and an oval pommel.

The blade is a double edge. The condition of the blade is good considering its age and shows signs of use and the lettering in the fuller have faded.

The rapier is very well balanced and robust.
