This particular piece originates from a large European Collection.

These complete examples are hard to find, many can still be found around musuems in Europe.They are rare when they are in a fine state of preservation. This particular pugio falls under the second type and the overall condition is excellent.

The hilt has a complete iron grips similar to stamped steel attached via rivets.

The blade is the iconic double edge design associated with Roman legion daggers and shows extensive use and pitting.

No doubt they have been well kept and preserved over time.
