Japanese Edo period (1603 – 1868) Kabuto With Dragon

This interesting Kabuto dating from the 18th to 19th century.

Helmet (kabuto): inlaid iron zunari of phoenix shibuichi on a branch  – neck guard (shikoro): six-man hineno green laced iron slats – fins (fukigaeshi): in perforated iron with a chrysanthemum – central ornament (maedate): shaped shikami – visor (mabisashi): iron with decoration raised eyebrows (uchimayu ).

Chin rest (hoate): in lacquered iron – throat guard (yodarekake): iron black lacquered with three green laced slats (Crashes).
