Rare 19th century Spanish Bowie knife
This Bowie knife is truly unique, rare, and very streamline in its design. This is a very well-crafted knife with a wide blade, what some might call a Serious Bowie Knife which would make a great centerpiece to any knife collection.
The handle is made of horn with an upper and lower ferrule. The handle has some light chipping which demonstrates how well used and loved this Bowie knife was to its original owner. The hilt fitting is made of steel & iron a real quality piece.
The knife is fitted with a thin heavy-duty blade which is still razor-sharp. The blade consists of multiple fullers.
The blade has a beautiful patina and is in fantastic condition.
The scabbard is in good condition too with its original leather. A section of the leather is damaged but this in no way affect the structure or integrity of the scabbard due to its wooden inserts.
The fitting of the scabbard is perfect, beautifully made in solid silver. The scabbard also appears to have been made for a left-handed person.
